Getting to the Zane Grey Pueblo Hotel
All guests are responsible for their personal transportation to Catalina Island. We suggest you check the availability and make reservations a minimum of 1 week prior to your visit with the service of your choice (see Getting to the Island above).

Your hotel stay includes a free one-way taxi ride from the boat terminal to the hotel to assist you with your luggage on arrival(helicopter passengers must pay for their fare from landing pad to ferry terminal). As you disembark the boat move towards the street and wait near the small parking lot. Please ask any city taxi (white mini-van) at the parking lot area to take you to the Zane Grey and they will bring you up at no charge. You are responsible for your return fare upon departure from the hotel.

COMPLIMENTARY TAXI SERVICE is available upon request at: 8:00. 9:00 10:00, 15:00 (3pm), 17:00 (5pm) and 18:00 (6pm).

These free trips provide a ride to OR from this Catalina Island hotel and the taxi stand at the town center, either direction may be traveled at exactly those set times. Departures from the hotel must be requested 5 minutes prior to the set time via a call placed to the Taxi company; there is a payphone on site for guests who do not carry mobile phones. To obtain a ride while in town you only need to walk up to the Taxi stand a few minutes before the set times listed above and inform them that you are standing by for a ride to the Zane Grey.

Walking to the hotel is about a 7 to 10 minute walk down hill and maybe double that to walk uphill, depending on individual physical fitness levels. Taxi service is available for hire from 7:00 through midnight in the winter or until 2:00am during summer months.

Accessibility of Zane Grey Pueblo Hotel

While we welcome all guests equally there are a few key features of our property of which you should be informed. There are 28 stairs to the entrance of the hotel building; these are the original uneven brick-like steps from Zane Grey's design in 1926. In addition, the entire property is tiered or on different levels and therefore there are stairs in sets of 4 or more at almost every turn. Due to our limited space and being located on a cliff ledge, we are unable to expand or rebuild the hotel to install elevators to accommodate wheelchairs or strollers and apologize for this shortcoming. This also highlights our concern for our younger guests, due to the hazards of the property like the open pool with no lifeguard and many precarious ledges and stairs we ask all small children be accompanied by an adult at all times. For these reasons we do encourage you to consider other Catalina Island hotel accommodations if you believe these features will be a nuisance to you, as our ultimate goal is to provide you with an enjoyable stay, and a great Catalina Island hotel accommodation.
